According to information obtained by Anadolu Agency from sources within the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Fidan made these statements during his speech at the "Special Contact Group on Gaza" meeting, held in Cairo, which is organized by the OIC and the Arab League.

In his speech, Fidan stated that the genocide in Gaza continues, and that Israel is persisting with its expansionist policies.

He emphasized the need to proceed with Egypt's plan for Gaza, which is supported by OIC member states. Fidan pointed out that genocide, forced displacement, and apartheid policies are ongoing in Gaza while this meeting is taking place.

He also added that the Israeli airstrikes carried out on March 18 this year demonstrated that Israel has a broader agenda. Fidan stressed that the prevention of humanitarian aid and the targeting of lands in Syria and Lebanon are signs of Israel’s determination to pursue this expansionist policy.

He continued, saying, "Peace in the region cannot be achieved unless Israel’s actions are curbed. Our primary goal should be to stop the destruction in Gaza and reach a permanent ceasefire. Pressure on Israel must be increased."

Fidan underlined the necessity of utilizing platforms such as the United Nations to secure an urgent and permanent ceasefire.

He pointed out that Egypt’s plan for Gaza, which enjoys support from all OIC member states, offers a constructive framework and that efforts should continue based on this plan.
