The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the neutralization of 18 terrorists during ongoing military operations in northern Iraq and Syria over the past two weeks.

This was stated in a press briefing by the Ministry's Public Relations and Media Advisor, Zeki Ak Türk, on Thursday at its headquarters in the capital Ankara.
Ak Türk mentioned that the Turkish Armed Forces were able to neutralize 18 terrorists during their operations in northern Iraq and Syria over the past two weeks.
He added that the total number of terrorists neutralized has now reached 555 since the beginning of 2025.
Turkey conducts operations against the terrorist organization "PKK," which targets its forces and citizens and is active in several countries in the region, including Syria, Iraq, and Iran.
The PKK uses the Qandil Mountains in northern Iraq as a stronghold and operates in many cities, regions, and valleys, from where it launches attacks on Turkish territory.
