Meanwhile, positive perceptions of the Palestinian Authority dropped from 26 percent to 18 percent, the lowest since 2015. Gallup noted that historically, Americans have viewed Israel more favorably than Palestinians, with an average positive view towards Israel at 65 percent since 1989, Al-Ghad reported.

In contrast, only 19 percent of Americans have viewed the Palestinian Authority positively since Gallup's first survey in 2000. Support for Israel among 18- to 34-year-olds plummeted from 64 percent in 2023 to 38 percent. Among those aged 35 to 54, it decreased from 66 to 55 percent, while there was no significant change among those aged 55 and above. Although evaluations of the Palestinian Authority among youth and seniors showed little change last year, their initial views were not very positive. There was a notable decline in preference rates among those aged 35 to 54, from 30 to 15 percent. Amid Israel’s war on Gaza, 52 percent of Americans perceive the war as a serious threat to US vital interests.
