The Israeli Ministry of Defense stated in a press release that "in a joint operation led by the Israeli Ministry of Defense’s procurement mission, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) planning division, and the Ministry of Defense's international shipping unit, a shipment of heavy aerial bombs was received and unloaded last night."
It added that "the ship carrying the heavy munitions arrived at the Ashdod port, and its cargo was unloaded onto dozens of trucks from the IDF transportation units and then transported to the Israeli Air Force bases."
The White House instructed the U.S. Department of Defense to lift the ban on delivering the bomb shipment that had been blocked by Joe Biden's administration.
The Israeli Ministry of Defense further emphasized that both it and the Israeli military "continue to strengthen efforts to purchase and transfer ammunition."
To date, over 76,000 tons of military equipment have arrived in Israel through 678 air shipments and 129 sea transport operations, marking the largest air and sea shipment operation in Israel's history.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated that "the ammunition supplies that arrived in Israel tonight, authorized by the Trump administration, represent a significant asset for the Israeli Air Force and military, and serve as further proof of the strong relationship between Israel and the United States."
He continued, "In our most recent discussions, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth reaffirmed the United States' commitment to continue supplying Israel with all the necessary tools to ensure its security. I thank President Donald Trump and the U.S. administration for their firm stance in support of Israel, and we will continue to work together to strengthen our security."
