As the repercussions of the stormy meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky continue to dominate global headlines, Zelensky emphasized that it was crucial for his country’s perspective to be heard.

During his visit to the Ukrainian House in Washington on Saturday, he said, "It is very important that Ukraine is heard."
He also stressed the importance of not forgetting Ukraine and its position, even after the war ends.
Furthermore, he confirmed, "It is important for the Ukrainian people to know that they are not alone, and that their interests are represented in every country and in every corner of the world."
Zelensky also thanked the Europeans for their support following the verbal confrontation with Trump.
Unprecedented Reprimand
This statement follows a violent exchange that took place between him and Trump at the White House yesterday in front of journalists and broadcasted to the media, where the American president gave his guest an unprecedented reprimand.
While Zelensky tried multiple times to defend his stance, the intervention of Trump’s deputy, J.D. Vance, only escalated the situation, adding further tension.
The meeting, or rather the intense argument, ended after about an hour, with Zelensky moving to a nearby room from the conference venue.
However, Trump’s aides later asked him to leave, while the lunch table prepared for the occasion remained untouched, leaving Zelensky empty-handed from the White House in an unprecedented manner.
Zelensky later reiterated in a television interview that he respects the American people and appreciates the assistance Washington has provided to his country. However, he firmly rejected the idea of apologizing to Trump.
Meanwhile, the U.S. president conditioned any future meeting on Zelensky’s willingness to engage in peace negotiations with Russia.
Support for Kyiv continued to pour in from various European countries, which reaffirmed their backing for Zelensky.
It is worth noting that relations between Washington and Kyiv have been tense for weeks, especially following the phone call between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as the summit held between the two countries' delegations in Saudi Arabia on February 18. Zelensky had publicly expressed his displeasure with both the call and the meeting, asserting that no discussions about Ukraine should take place without Ukrainian representatives present.
However, more importantly, the Ukrainian president has insisted on the need for the United States to provide security guarantees to his country before any deal or peace negotiations are made.
