In a statement to the press after the London summit on Sunday, Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine does not want its position to remain ambiguous. He added, "But everyone needs to understand each other and be aware of our red lines."

Zelensky also expressed confidence that Ukraine's relationship with the United States would continue. "Ukraine's failure doesn't just mean Putin's success, it means a failure for Europe and the United States as well. I believe we all have a vested interest in not letting Putin win," he said.

The summit on Ukraine was held on Sunday at the historic Lancaster House in London, with leaders and ministers from Ukraine, France, Germany, Denmark, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Turkey, Canada, Finland, Sweden, the Czech Republic, and Romania in attendance.

The event also saw participation from NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President Antonio Costa, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan attended on behalf of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The summit took place following a heated exchange between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky in Washington. On Friday evening, during their meeting at the White House, the two leaders had a tense debate in front of cameras.

As a result of the dispute, a joint press conference was canceled, and Zelensky left the White House without signing an agreement on rare earth elements, which Trump had demanded in exchange for U.S. support to Ukraine during its war with Russia.

Since February 24, 2022, Russia has been conducting a military attack on its neighbor, Ukraine, which insists that its sovereignty is non-negotiable and that joining Western military alliances is an internal matter for Kyiv.
