AMMAN — The purchasing price of 21-karat gold stood
at JD35.60 per gram, an official said on Saturday, compared to a JD34.10
selling price, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

Jordan Jewelers Association’s Secretary-General Ribhy Allan
said that the price of 24-karat and 18-karat gold amounted to JD42.20 and
JD31.80 respectively.
The price of a Rashadi lira, weighing 7g, stood at JD253,
while a British gold sovereign, which weighs 8g, reached JD288, Allan said.
Allan said that demand for gold in the local market is
currently "very good" due to the declining prices.
He added that gold prices in global markets on Friday
reached $1,727 per ounce.
