The Department of Statistics, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, released the annual survey of olive oil mills in the Kingdom for the 2024/2025 season, showing a significant increase in production.

Survey Results:
Total olives used in milling: Reached 184,903 tons, compared to 138,898 tons in the 2023/2024 season, an increase of 33.1%.
Olive oil production: Increased by 43.2%, reaching 35,828 tons in the 2024 season, compared to 25,028 tons in 2023.
Oil yield from olives: Increased from 18% in the 2023/2024 season to 19.4% in the 2024/2025 season.
Value of Production: The value of the olive oil produced this year is estimated at 223.9 million Jordanian dinars, based on the average price in the fourth quarter of 2024.
Geographical Distribution:
Irbid Governorate ranked first in both the quantity of olives used for milling and the quantity of olive oil produced, with 89.2 thousand tons of olives used and 17.6 thousand tons of olive oil produced.
Aqaba Governorate had the lowest amount of olives used for milling, with 1.3 thousand tons, and the lowest quantity of olive oil produced, at 0.3 tons.
History of the Survey: Since the initiation of this survey in 2008, the results have shown variability in the amounts of olives used for milling and olive oil produced, mainly due to the phenomenon of "alternate bearing." However, this year marks the highest recorded figures for both olive quantities and oil yield.
Number of Mills:
The total number of mills in Jordan reached 148 mills in 2024, with 146 mills operational.
It is worth mentioning that this survey is conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and uses a comprehensive surveying method.
