The summit, which will see the participation of Arab and regional SMEs-supporting institutions, aims to help Arab SMEs access regional and international markets, increase ways to secure financial resources and enhance their potential to scale up.
The event will also serve as a regional platform to bring national and international leaders from the public and private sectors to highlight the importance of comprehensive policies and strategies required to support Arab SMEs.
In his meeting with Executive Director of ESCWA Technology Center Karim Hassan and Regional Director of Amman office, Nael Mulki, JEDCO CEO Abdul Fattah Kayed said the selection of Jordan to host the summit reflects ESCWA's trust in JEDCO to cooperate to hold the event, which will bring together representatives of more than 200 Arab and international SME-supporting institutions to develop pioneering projects in the Arab world.
JEDCO is the official umbrella for Jordan's SMEs sector and entrepreneurial institutions, Kayed noted, adding that the summit coincides with the 50th anniversary of JEDCO's establishment, which supported more than 10,000 Jordanian economic facilities.
