The Palestinian-Jordanian Business Forum on Thursday called on the government to further relax
COVID-19 restrictions, to enable the private sector to operate better and raise productivity.

A day earlier, the government
announced a set of measures to ease COVID-19 restrictions, including lifting the weekly lockdowns on Friday and permitting evening and tarawih prayers, provided people attend them on foot.
However, night curfew hours remained as is throughout the week, imposed from 7pm till 6am every day.
the chairman of the forum’s board of directors, Nazmi Atma, said that the government must work to mitigate damages incurs by private business due to curfew and lockdown measures, stressing the need for balancing public health measures and the resumption of economic sectors’ operations.
Proposed measures by Atma included government intervention to provide liquidity for small and medium enterprises through low-interest loans, and shortening curfew hours to begin at midnight instead.
