AMMAN —
Raed Hamada, a representative from the Jordan Chamber of
Commerce’s food sector on Sunday said that the demand for
Eid Al-Adha sweets is
still weak even though the holiday is right around the corner.

Hamada said in a statement released on Sunday that the demand for
sweets is at its lowest point in years despite price stability.
He attributed the drop to a decline in purchasing power and
because the private sector is not paying salaries before the holiday.
Hamada added that another reason includes the COVID-19 pandemic,
which has negatively affected the economy.
