The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission, Ziyad Al-Saaydeh, announced that 100,000 composite "plastic" gas cylinders will be made available in the markets during the first phase, following full approvals and inspections by the relevant government authorities. He confirmed that the price of the plastic cylinder will be the same as that of the traditional metal cylinder.

Al-Saaydeh added that the cylinders are expected to be available in the markets by mid-year, once all required testing procedures are completed and after government officials visit the manufacturing plants.
He also noted that two investors have already applied to invest in composite "plastic" gas cylinders, and that work is still ongoing to finalize the regulatory and legislative procedures for them to obtain licenses for gas cylinder distribution through filling centers. Additionally, there has been considerable interest from other investors seeking information on this opportunity.
Previously, Al-Saaydeh stated that the handling, loading, and unloading of the composite cylinders will follow the approved procedures and current practices, utilizing special crates within licensed distribution vehicles, in a manner that ensures compliance with public safety requirements.
