Al-Kharabsheh emphasized that this memorandum comes as part of the ongoing efforts in geological surveys in Jordan, aiming to produce an accurate mineral map using drone technology, which is widely used globally. He pointed out that the ministry is seeking reliable results to determine the locations and quantities of undiscovered mineral resources.

The Minister also mentioned that the ministry is currently negotiating with four companies to sign executive agreements, expecting positive results on the ground soon.

On his part, Dr. Khalil Abu Rab explained that the company relies on modern technology in exploration processes to determine the quantities and depths of mineral resources in targeted areas, in addition to discovering new sites. He added that the company’s survey operations are followed by comprehensive field studies, which include sending technical teams to collect samples and conduct necessary analyses.

In this context, Hisham Al-Zayoud, Director of the Geological and Mining Directorate, explained that the memorandum includes completing geological surveys and mineral exploration using the latest technologies, with a focus on developing strategies for exploiting the kingdom’s natural resources.

Al-Zayoud also mentioned that, under the previous memorandum of understanding with the ministry, the company has completed the procedures for importing drones by obtaining the necessary security and logistical permits. This technology is expected to enhance planning and exploration operations by producing detailed maps that outline the geological distribution of mineral resources across the kingdom, thus boosting investment opportunities in the mining sector.

It is worth noting that the previous memorandum included preparatory measures for importing drones to conduct aerial geological surveys, aiming to produce a mineral map of Jordan within a strategic framework designed to support the mining sector and provide accurate data to enhance investment decisions in natural resources.
