AMMAN — Jordan's imports of grains through the
Aqaba port rose up by 20 percent to about 518,000 tonnes in the third quarter of
2021, compared to 431,000 in the same period of 2020.

Secretary General of the
Jordan Navigation Syndicate (JNS) Mohammad Dalabih
told the Jordan News Agency, Petra, on Tuesday that livestock imports through
the port since the beginning of this year have reached 153,000 heads of sheep,
cattle, and animals, marking an increase of 17 percent compared to 131,000 in
the same period last year.
The volume of cargo entering the
Kingdom through Aqaba port rose by 8 percent
in the first nine months of the current year to reach nearly 580,000 tonnes
against 541,000 in the same reporting period of 2020, he added.
