Kharabsheh added that restructuring the home sector had come
to ease electrical consumption categories, adding that those using less than
600 kilo-watts will not be affected.
During his meeting with industrialists in the
Amman Chamber of Industry, Kharabsheh explained that the reduction from the large industrial
sector was approximately JD20 million, or 14.7 percent and that the total
industrial bill would decrease by about JD24 million.
With regard to the tariff on the large industrial sector and
extractive industries, the tariff of the maximum load has been eliminated, and
the restructuring will result in some JD50 million to be distributed to the
different productive sectors.
For the small industrial sector, Kharabsheh said that
consumption from 1 to 10,000 kWh would drop from 61 cents to 60 cents and for
consumption over 10,000 kWh per month from 71 cents to 68 cents.
Kharabsheh added that the decision will come into effect
April 1, and will reduce the cost of electricity for the industrial sector in
varying proportions.
