The Department of Statistics issued its monthly report on the general industrial production index, noting a 4.11% increase in industrial production quantities for February 2025 compared to the same month in 2024, while a decrease of 0.50% was recorded compared to January of the same year.

Regarding the cumulative data for the first two months of 2025, the general industrial production index increased by 3.43% compared to the same period in 2024. It's worth mentioning that the base year has been adjusted to 2018=100 instead of 2010=100.
As a result, the industrial production index for February 2025 stood at 87.56 points, compared to 84.10 points for the same period in 2024. The industrial production index for February 2025 also stood at 87.56 compared to 88.00 for January of the same year. For the cumulative total of the first two months of 2025, the industrial production index reached 87.78 compared to 84.87 for the same period in 2024.
On a monthly change level, the general industrial production index for February 2025 increased compared to the same month in 2024 due to the rise in production quantities in the "Manufacturing Industries" sector by 3.78%, which holds a relative importance of 88.7%. Additionally, the "Extractive Industries" sector saw a 7.26% increase, with a relative importance of 5.4%, and the "Electricity" sector saw a 6.36% rise, with a relative importance of 5.9%.
Comparing the industrial production index for February 2025 to January of the same year, the "Manufacturing Industries" sector saw a marginal increase of 0.02%, while the "Extractive Industries" sector experienced a 4.93% decrease, and the "Electricity" sector saw a 4.23% decline.
On a cumulative basis for the first two months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, the "Manufacturing Industries" sector saw an increase of 3.11%, while the "Extractive Industries" sector rose by 6.58%, and the "Electricity" sector saw a 5.41% increase.
