Jordan, UK sign £50.2 million grant agreement

AMMAN — On Sunday, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Nasser Shraideh signed a grant agreement with the British Minister of State for Asia and the Middle East Amanda Milling, worth £50.2 million, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.اضافة اعلان

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, the grant is provided by the UK government to help support the Jordanian government’s efforts to expand the social safety net within the framework of the implementation of the National Social Protection Strategy.

The statement pointed out that the project, to be implemented in five years, will “enhance social and economic resilience in Jordan”.

The project includes support for the Estidama ++ program to expand the base of social security coverage through the Social Security general organization in partnership with relevant authorities such as the Social Development Ministry and the National Aid Fund, according to the statement.
