Lebanon cancels pre-issued import licences requirement with Jordan

ِِAMMAN — Minister of Agriculture Khalid Hneifat on Friday said that Lebanon canceled the pre-issued import license requirement for agricultural produce from Jordan, according to Al-Mamlaka TV. اضافة اعلان

Hneifat stated that “As part of the ministry's efforts to increase agricultural exports, establish a mutually beneficial trade relations with other states, and reciprocate the exchange of agricultural products, we have worked to communicate with the Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture; The import of bananas was given priority during the supplementary import period from Lebanon, while Jordan’s exports of vegetables go to Lebanon."

Accordingly, the Lebanese side canceled the pre-issued import license requirement to import from Jordan. The Jordanian Ministry of Agriculture “gave directions to Jordan Exporters and Producers Association for Fruit and Vegetables to contact their Lebanese counterparts and inform them that the exports will be delivered to Lebanon without pre-issued licenses,” concluded Hneifat.
