In a statement, MFW acting director, Lama Zawati, said the company's various and diverse services had a positive impact on Jordanian women, who were able to unleash their potential to grow economically.

Zawati said the company's contributions have served to empower women by all available means, which constitute an added incentive for MFW to continue on its path, expand its services, and add to the number of customers benefiting from its services.

In a quarter of a century, MFW has issued 1.4 million micro loans through its 61 branches countrywide, with the total amount disbursed through these loans coming to JD722 million, Zawati said.

She said that in total 1.269 million customers benefited from the company's services over the years, 96 percent of them women, in addition to 7,658 Syrian refugees who also benefit from the microfinance institution’s services, according to Zawati.
MFW operates under the supervision and control of the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ).

To date, Zawati said the company's loans portfolio stands at 63,000 microloans, 75 percent “Tadamon” loans, and 14 percent “Tatweer” loans for developing existing projects.

Zawati also said that the MFW is the first company to launch a microfinance service in the Middle East, adding that the company offers financial compensation to its beneficiaries, with the aim of contributing to alleviating losses resulting from unemployment.

The number of MFW’s microinsurance beneficiaries, both men and women, currently exceeds 353,000, she added.
