AMMAN —
The emergency cash transfer program, run by World Bank during the COVID-19
pandemic, saw $356.53 million in payments to families as part of its
developmental objectives in Jordan for families and workers who were affected
by the pandemic, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.

A grant of $24.17
million, from a multi-donor trust fund for comprehensive development and
economic opportunities in Jordan, disbursed through the project.
The project
benefitted 2 million people, and of the families who received aid, 10 percent
were headed by women.
Approximately 110,000
workers working in the formal economy benefited from the project in the form of
wage subsidies. Half of the recipients were women. Of the first phase of the
project’s intended 400,000 recipient families, 366,576 received aid.
