Phosphate, Chlorine firms cooperate to utilize environment-friendly product

AMMAN — The Jordan Phosphate Mines Co. (JPMC) and the National Chlorine Industries Co. (NCI) on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on recycling and manufacturing the Phosphogypsum byproduct and turning it into chemical products, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. اضافة اعلان

The memo was signed by JPMC’s CEO Abdul Wahab Rowwad and Chairman of the NCI Board of Directors Khalil Abu Al-Rob.

Phosphogypsum is a byproduct used to produce phosphoric acid. Recycling Phosphogypsum and disposing of it would contribute to conserving the environment and play into the JPMC and NCI efforts.

The JPMC has produced a series of research papers on how to best utilize Phosphogypsum in agriculture and construction.
