AMMAN — Qatar’s exports to Jordan valued some $22 million during the first
half of this year, according to recent statistics from the Qatar Chamber of
Commerce and Industry.

The
exports represent an increase of 17.6 percent compared to the same period in
2020, according to Al-Ghad news.
The Deputy Chairman of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Mohammad bin Tawar Al-Kuwari on Thursday said that the Qatari private sector
has a close relationship with its Jordanian counterpart, and that the chamber
encourages the Qatari private sector to increase trade with Jordan.
Kuwari
told the Jordan News Agency, Petra, that the Qatari private sector considers
Jordan one of its main markets in the region.
He called for intensifying coordination between both countries’
private sectors to increase bilateral trade.
The Qatari private sector exports items such as chemicals, motor
oils, polyethylene, polymers, sulfonic acid, iron wires, iron rods, plastic
bags, aluminum briquettes, solvents, and helium to Jordan.
The volume of trade between Jordan and Qatar during the past year
amounted to about $182 million, compared to $220 million in 2019, according
