AMMAN — The total value of certificates of
origin issued by the
Irbid Chamber of Industry for the month of October this
year was $90.7 million, an increase of 11.9 percent compared to certificates of
origin issued in October of last year, which had a value of $81 million,
Al-Mamlaka TV reported.

In October of this year, 1,182 certificates of
origin were issued by the chamber, while 1,239 were issued in October 2021.
According to a report issued by the chamber,
Al-Hassan Industrial City ranked first in Irbid in terms of total exports in
October this year, with a total export value of $85.5 million and 94 percent of
total exports. Meanwhile, Cyber City’s export value totaled $3.5 million, with
4 percent of exports, and other entities in Irbid exported goods valued at $1.6
million.
The leather and sewing industries sector accounted
for 88 percent of total exports, registering the highest export value at $79.8
million. The therapeutic industries and medical supplies sector achieved an
export value of $4 million.
Meanwhile, the foodstuff industries sector
registered $3.7 million in exports. The remaining exports were distributed
among the chemical, cosmetics, plastic, rubber, construction, mining, and
packaging industries, in addition to engineering and electrical industries.
Exports to the US accounted for 67.8 percent of total
exports, at a value of over $61 million, while exports to Arab countries
reached 8.3 percent of total exports, worth $7.4 million. The remainder of
exports were to various European countries, Southeast Asia, Canada, and other
countries.
