The ministry said on Wednesday
that the response plan has
been extended to continue based on the annual requirements agreed upon within
the 2020–2022 response plan, Addustour daily reported.
Work is currently underway to agree on a new methodology to
prepare a new 2024–2026 response plan, in partnership with ministries,
government institutions, donors, and international organizations.
The total funding received for the response plan last year
amounted to $760.3 million out of a required $2.28 billion, at a financing rate
of 33.4 percent and with a deficit of $1.51 billion.
In previous statements,
the ministry said that the government is continually working to shed light on the Syrian crisis and its repercussions
on the Jordanian economy, as well as the quality of services provided to
Jordanians and Syrians. In this way, it encourages donor countries to support
Syrian refugees and host communities, and urges the international community to
commit to its humanitarian duties and financial pledges.
