31% of medical spending comes from people’s pockets — SSC

AMMAN — Director of the Social Security Corporation (SSC) Hazem Al-Rahahleh said that studies revealed that 31 percent of the money Jordanians spend on healthcare and medical treatment comes from their own pocket, Khaberni News reported.

Rahahleh said that the health insurance of private sector employees came to close the insurance gap suffered by employees and retirees in the sector, through a monthly deduction of up to 5 percent from each beneficiary.

He said an employee or a retiree from the private sector who is registered with the SSC and has a monthly salary of JD300, the amount JD15 is deducted monthly for health insurance. اضافة اعلان
