AMMAN — The
Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) stated on September 20th
that the preliminary balance of payments data indicated that the total foreign
direct investment inflows into the kingdom during the first half of 2023
reached approximately $776 million, showing a growth of 20.9 percent compared
to the corresponding period in 2022.

This increase was primarily driven by reinvested earnings
and newly registered investments with the
Ministry of Industry, Trade, and
Supply, Al-Mamlaka news reported.
According to the central bank, foreign direct investment
inflows into the kingdom during the second quarter of 2023 alone amounted to
$383.8 million, marking an increase of 85.7 percent compared to the
corresponding quarter of 2022.
