AMMAN —
Director General of the Agricultural Credit Corp. (ACC), Mohammad Dogan,
affirmed Sunday that the corporation has granted loans worth JD40 million to
9,000 beneficiaries in 2022, including interest free loans for specific
agricultural projects, Al-Rai daily reported.
The corporation
supports new projects with the aim of reducing poverty, and unemployment, and
provides microcredit to help the development of productive projects for rural
women and youth, according to Dogan.
He explained that the
corporation is committed to providing loans, which contribute to supporting
families working in the agricultural sector, especially in the rural and remote
areas. He added that the corporation’s activities are in line with the
National Plan for Sustainable Agriculture.
Dogan noted that
the corporation has activated the electronic receipt service (E-Fawateercom) in
August to support the agricultural sector.
He stressed the corporation’s keenness to increase and
improve agricultural production quantitatively and qualitatively and to raise
the standard of living of farmers by providing the necessary capital to finance
new projects.
