AMMAN — The
Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) has reported an
8.2 percent increase in exports of goods and commodities during the first third
of 2023, compared to last year.

According to statistical data, the
chamber's exports between
January and March 2023 amounted to JD401 million compared to the same period
last year, which saw JD253 million in exports, reported the Jordan News Agency,
Petra.
Certificates of origin issued by ACC on the riseThe
number of certificates of origin issued by ACC also
increased during the first third of 2023, by 7.9 percent to reach 8,676,
compared to 8,042 certificates during the same period in 2022.
The
certificates of origin issued during this period went to
several countries, with Saudi Arabia leading the list with 1,530 certificates,
followed by the UAE at 1,221, Iraq at 614, Egypt at 276, and Switzerland at
nine.
Multiple countriesACC's monthly statistical data shows that exports in terms
of value went to many countries, with Iraq leading the list at JD154 million,
followed by Switzerland at about JD73 million, the UAE at about JD42 million,
Egypt at JD30 million, and Saudi Arabia at about JD21 million.
The
chamber’s exports during the first third of 2023 were
distributed among foreign products (re-exports) at a value of about JD180
million, followed by industrial products at about JD42 million, agricultural
products at JD34 million, and Arab products at about JD38 million, while the
remaining exports went to other products.
