AMMAN — The
Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) closed Tuesday's trading session up by 0.44 percent
at 2,174 points. A total of 4.9 million shares were traded through 2,900
transactions at a trading value of JD5.9 million.

The closing prices
of 46 companies with traded shares went up, while 30 others declined. The
prices of the shares of 23 others remained stable, according to the Jordan News
Agency, Petra.
Saudi investors led
the list of foreign investors with top shareholders in the ASE at the end of
January, with a value of JD1,018 billion, and about JD400 million in number of
securities, and 2,482 in number of contributions.
The number of
securities registered with the
Securities Depository Center at the end of
January reached 7.2 billion, with a total value of JD17.5 billion.
The ownership of
the top 10 nationalities, excluding Jordanians, recorded approximately 1.7
billion shares, with a total value of JD6.3 billion.
Jordanians own
about 5 billion securities, with a total value of nearly JD9.2 billion.
