AQABA — Financial support provided by the
Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) to various tourism sectors in the Golden Triangle, including the
Ayla Oasis Development Company, aims to implement cultural and tourism activities to attract domestic and foreign tourists in a bid to overcome the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic, an official said Tuesday, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

Deputy Chairman of the ASEZA’s Board of Commissioners Sharhabeel Madi stated that the authority is working to improve the touristic attractiveness of the city of Aqaba within the Golden Triangle — comprising Petra, Wadi Rum, and Aqaba itself — in order to make it one of the most important tourist cities on the coasts of the Red Sea.
He also indicated that the ASEZA builds partnerships with major tourism institutions with the aim of developing the city and attracting investment and tourist groups to Aqaba.
