AMMAN — The
Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is set
to sign a memorandum of understanding with the
Arab Mining Company Monday to
mine phosphates in Risha region on the Kingdom's eastern borders, the Jordan
News Agency, Petra, reported.

The agreement is the first of its kind in the field of
phosphate ore exploitation in Jordan's eastern region, according to a ministry statement on
Sunday.
The Amman-based Arab Mining Company was established in 1975 by a decision
issued by Council of Arab Economic Unity at Arab League.
