AMMAN —
Chief Investment Officer of Amman Vision Transport Company, Alaa Beano, said
that Amman Bus currently serves 25 routes inside Amman, noting that the
project’s buses transported about 900,000 passengers in June, according to
Al-Mamlaka TV.

Beano pointed out that
the second phase will be to contract a firm to operate 17 additional
transportation routes, so that the total grows to 42 within the capital city,
Amman.
Beano said that the bid
aims to attract a specialized operator, most likely a 50-50 partnership between
a local and an international operator.
Ticket prices will be similar to the current rates of JD0.35
to JD0.60 piasters, depending on the route.
