AMMAN — The
Amman Retina Meeting 2022 will kick off on the June 1 the Fairmont Hotel in
Amman, said the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The three-day
meeting is organized by the Middle East Africa Council of Ophthalmology (MEACO)
in collaboration with the Jordanian Ophthalmological Society and Jordan
Hospital.

The meeting’s
organizer Faisal Al-Fayyad said the meeting is a major event in the Middle East
and Africa with a big international turnout of experts alongside global medical
organizations specializing in retinal diseases.
The gathering
will present major updates through plenary sessions and scientific symposia,
Fayyad said.
He predicted a
turnout of more than 400 physicians from 30 countries, including Palestine,
Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Yemen, Turkey,
Greece, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Britain, France, the US,
and Argentina.
The meeting’s
organizing committee representative, Muawyah Al-Bdour, said discussions will
tackle the latest developments in the research and treatment of the retina with
the aim of training physicians on the latest methods of diagnosing and treating
retinal diseases. He said other training workshops and discussions will
highlight Jordan’s advanced medical sector.
