AMMAN — The exports of the
Amman Chamber of Industry reached
JD5.198 billion during the past nine months of this year, compared to JD5.458
billion for the same period in 2022.

According to statistical data, exports of 6 sectors
increased, while the remaining four decreased, ranging between 0.6 percent for
textiles and 15.2 percent for mining, Hala News reported.
India, the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq accounted
for the majority of the
Amman Chamber of Industry's exports during the past
nine months of this year, registering JD3.031 billion.
Exports to the United States increased by 15.7 percent
during the past nine months, registering JD856 million compared to JD740
million for the same period last year.
Statistical data showed that exports to Saudi Arabia
increased by 9.9 percent to reach JD616 million compared to JD560 million for
the same period last year.
Exports to Iraq increased by 34.4 percent to reach JD629
million, compared to JD468 million for the same period in 2022.
On the other hand, exports to India decreased by 10.7
percent to JD930 million compared to JD1.041 billion for the same period last
year. However, India remained at the forefront of countries receiving
Amman's industrial exports.
According to the geographical distribution of the chamber's
exports during the past nine months, Arab countries came first with JD2.262
billion, non-Arab Asian countries with JD1.469 billion, and African countries
with JD46 million.
Exports to North America reached JD906 million, South
America about JD86 million, European Union countries about JD211 million,
non-
EU European countries JD125 million, and other countries JD93 million.
The exports were distributed across various sectors: mining
industries (JD1.553 billion), chemical and cosmetics (984 million dinars),
engineering, electrical, and IT (JD736 million), food, agricultural, and
livestock industries (JD564 million), medical supplies (JD486 million), leather
and textiles (JD345 million), packaging, paper, office supplies (JD228
million), plastics and rubber (JD178 million), construction (JD110 million),
and wood and furniture industries (JD13 million).
It is worth noting that the Amman Chamber of Industry,
established in 1962, currently has 8,600 industrial establishments in its
membership, employing 159,000 workers with a capital of about JD5 billion.
