Aqaba Port revenue rose 4% last year

AMMAN –– Aqaba Port revenue rose by JD66 million in 2021; a 4 percent increase compared to 2020, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. The number of travelers at the passenger terminal increased by 17 percent to approximately 250,000, General Manager of the Aqaba Company for Ports Operation and Management Khaled Al Maaytah said. In remarks to the press, he said that the increase is an indication that Aqaba Port is on the road to recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, noting that the port handled 15 million tonnes of foodstuffs, livestock, and vehicles.
