AQABA — Ayla Oasis in the port city of Aqaba is
witnessing "active" tourism movement, which, in conjunction with the
government’s launch of the “safe summer” plan, is contributing to promoting
tourism and trade in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA).

In a statement Saturday, Ayla Oasis Development Company CEO,
Sahel Dudin, said Ayla Oasis achieved “distinguished performance indicators” in
attracting local and foreign tourists.
This achievement was thanks to activities of ASEZA's “Al
Hawa Janoubi” campaign to activate tourism in Jordan's Golden Triangle,
covering Aqaba, Wadi Rum and Petra, Dudin said.
This tourism recovery was evident by the increase in the
number of visitors to Ayla Oasis since the beginning of last July up to the end
of October, he said.
Ayla’s Al Marsa Village received more than 136,000 visitors,
a record increase from the same period last year, he added.
Dudin praised the government's efforts over the past months,
which succeeded in achieving a safe summer, according to a three-phase plan
that began in early June and ended in September.
Government efforts have contributed to a gradual and safe
return of the tourism sector together with the announcement of the Golden
Triangle as a "green" area, he said.
Ayla Oasis is currently preparing to move to new stages for
attracting tourism and promoting the national tourist product, Dudin said.
The Ayla Oasis will continue to adhere to "strict"
health protocols to protect visitors and employees, in conjunction with the
resumption of tourism and recreational activity at its various venues, he said.
An integrated package of programs and activities covering
the upcoming winter season will be announced, he added.
