AMMAN — A Border Guard unit foiled an
infiltration and smuggling attempt on the Kingdom’s borders with Syria early
Sunday, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

A military source in the General Command of the
Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army said that army personnel applied the rules of
engagement with a group of infiltrators and, after conducting a thorough
search, they seized 154 blocks of hashish and 900,000 Captagon narcotic pills.
The source underscored that the army will respond with all
strength and resolve against any infiltration or smuggling attempt to protect
the Kingdom’s borders and prevent any violation of national security.
