AMMAN — The daily average trading volume on
the
Amman Stock Exchange during the week of September 17-21 was approximately
JD3.6 million compared to JD4 million for the previous week, reflecting a
decrease of 10.7 percent.

The total trading volume for this week
reached around JD18.0 million compared to JD20.1 million for the previous week.
The total number of traded shares on the
stock exchange during this week was 18.8 million shares, executed through
11,991 contracts, Al-Saa News reported.
Sector variance
The
services sector ranked first in its
contributions among all Jordanian sectors, accounting for JD7.35 million,
representing 40.88 percent of the total trading volume. The financial sector
came in second with a volume of JD6.70 million, making up 37.25 percent, and
finally, the industrial sector recorded a volume of JD3.93 million, representing
21.87 percent.
The general price index for stocks at the
close of this week increased to 2,410.2 points compared to 2,407.1 points for
the previous week, with a 0.13 percent increase. On the sectoral level, the
price index for the services sector decreased by 0.09 percent, while the
financial sector increased by 0.06 percent, and the industrial sector saw a
1.31 percent increase.
When comparing the closing prices of the
127 traded companies' stocks for this week to their previous closing prices, it
was found that 57 companies saw an increase in their stock prices, while the
prices of 41 companies decreased.
