Ayla Showcases Green Transformation and Sustainability Achievements at Eco JO Expo

Aligned with its vision for sustainable development, Ayla presented its achievements, initiatives, and innovative environmental solutions at the first Jordanian Sustainability Expo, ECO JO Expo. The event was inaugurated by Her Royal Highness Princess Basma bint Ali on Thursday, August 14, 2024, and concluded on Sunday, August 18, 2024.اضافة اعلان

Held under the patronage of the Ministry of Environment, the Greater Amman Municipality, and the Jordan Green Building Council, the expo saw Ayla Oasis Development Company showcase its pioneering programs in water management, green energy, sustainable environmental practices, recycling, and environmental education.

Throughout the four-day event, Ayla’s sustainability and excellence team engaged with participants and guests at Eco JO Expo, discussing Ayla’s sustainable model, the principles it implements, its achievements, and the international recognition it has received as a successful example of sustainable urban development.

On this occasion, Sahl Dudin, Managing Director of Ayla Oasis Development Company, remarked, “We are delighted to participate in this significant event, celebrating the substantial successes we have achieved over the years. We remain committed to supporting national efforts for green transformation, with a special focus on raising awareness about environmental sustainability and clean energy, exploring the latest global and local practices and solutions, and sharing the foundations of Ayla’s successful journey over the past two decades in preserving biodiversity and promoting an eco-friendly lifestyle for tourists and residents.”

He added, “Today, with recognition from prestigious national and international institutions, we celebrate our achievements in biodiversity conservation, reducing carbon footprints, adhering to strict environmental regulations, expanding green spaces, and adopting smart transportation technologies. These efforts have earned Ayla high-level environmental awards, the Blue Flag designation at several sites, Green Key certifications, and an international award for Ayla Marina.”

The Ayla Pavilion attracted significant interest from expo visitors who attended presentations and received informational materials highlighting Ayla’s sustainable achievements and initiatives. These included the use of 9 MW of green solar energy to reduce harmful emissions, sustainable water usage practices, water conservation, mechanical treatment of water used for irrigation, expanding green spaces, protecting marine resources, a pioneering coral reef transplantation program, conservation efforts for endangered marine species like fish and sea turtles, and regular beach cleaning programs, all presented by the project’s sustainability team.

The presentations also featured an overview of Ayla’s accomplishments, such as the Ayla Feather Trail and the creation of habitats within Ayla to attract migratory birds during their annual migration. These habitats play a crucial role in protecting migratory birds by providing rest in different environments within the project during their seasonal migrations in the fall and spring, which has also highlighted eco-tourism activities. Additionally, Ayla has adopted smart green transportation systems to reduce the carbon footprint, along with environmental awareness and education initiatives, and has enhanced environmental volunteer programs to benefit the local community.

The first Jordanian Sustainability Expo, Eco JO Expo, is an innovative platform dedicated to promoting sustainability, environmental awareness, and green technologies. This annual event brings together individuals, companies, and organizations committed to fostering a more sustainable future.
