The campaign included various environmental, tourism, and awareness activities, in collaboration with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, local stakeholders, and diving centers. Ayla's diving team participated in underwater clean-up activities at the Mamlah site on the first day, attended by Naif Al-Fayez, Chairman of the Aqaba Authority, representing Princess Basma. The second day featured collaboration with the Royal Jordanian Navy, Civil Defense diving teams, and local diving associations.
Ayla's CEO, Engineer Sahal Dudin, emphasized the company's active participation in this significant global initiative, highlighting Jordan's role in nature conservation. He noted Ayla's leadership in launching programs for natural resource protection and its commitment to sustainability over the past two decades, aligning with global best practices.
Engineer Khaled Al-Kurdi, Secretary and Acting Executive Director of the Royal Marine Conservation Society, highlighted this year's campaign's unique partnerships with the private sector, stressing the importance of corporate social responsibility in marine conservation to maintain biodiversity and ensure these resources' sustainability for future generations.
The "Clean Up the World 2024" campaign included clean-up efforts at several locations on Aqaba's shores, focusing on the south beach and Ayla Marina, with volunteer participation in waste sorting and weighing. Ayla also hosted various environmental activities for students, culminating in a closing event at the Hyatt Regency Aqaba. Ayla was chosen as a key participant for its commitment to preserving natural life and balancing urban development with environmental sustainability.
