Some
of the positive changes include improvements
in people’s economic situations; better access to food, health, water, or other
services; a greater sense of power; and progress in gender equality, the
statement said.
In 2021, nearly 80 percent of
the reported projects showed how they were contributing to improving equality
for the women and girls CARE works with.
The programs come as part of
CARE’s 2030 vision to support 200 million people to overcome poverty and social
injustice, according to the statement.
The 30 indicators CARE uses to
measure the impact its programs have align closely to the UN Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs). Last year, CARE contributed to 12 out of the 17 SDGs,
the statement said.
