By providing a financial contribution from the
Kingdom’s Treasury, the bylaw aims to enable licensed political parties to play their
role based on citizenship, equality, and commitment to democracy and political
pluralism.
Through the
financial contributions, the bylaw also aims to
encourage the active participation of parties in public political life and
elections in order to form a Lower House based on effective partisan
parliamentary blocs. In addition, it endeavors to strengthen the political role
of women, youth and persons with disabilities in public party activities.
Contribution amountsAccording to the bylaw, the specific amounts of the
financial contribution provided to the parties will be determined in accordance
with international standards and best practices on political party
representation.
Each party is entitled to a financial contribution of
JD30,000 if it achieves a percentage equivalent to 50 percent or more of votes
cast in the electoral district under the electoral threshold described in the
Lower House Election Law. The parties will also receive JD10,000 for each seat
they win, in addition to 20 percent of that amount for each woman, young person
