PRESS RELEASE — Careem, the
region’s leading multi-service app, announces its partnership with Tamweelcom,
a Jordanian microfinance company, to enable Captains to access financing for
their work permits and vehicle purchases. Over 5,000 Careem Captains in Amman
and Irbid are expected to take advantage of this financing along with new
joiners.

Through one of
the agreements, Captains will gain access to affordable finance to pay for
their Land Transport Regulatory Commission (LTRC) permit, amounting to 400 JDs.
Captains will now be able to pay around 40 JDs per month over a 12-month
period.

Careem’s fleet
in Jordan consists of approximately 25% scooters and 12% electric vehicles.
Tamweelcom is also enabling Careem Captains to access affordable financing for
the purchase of electric vehicles or electric delivery scooters with a
financing limit of up to 3,000 JDs. The amount can be repaid over a flexible
period of 6 to 36 months. The offer is available to individuals between the
ages of 18 to 60 years old across all governorates in Jordan.

“Tamweelcom” the Jordanian Microfinance Company commented:

to meet the financing needs of this particular group."
Tamweelcom was
established in 1999 as a non-profit company that provides financing for
low-income individuals who are unbanked. Tamweelcom has become one of the most
important institutions concerned with microfinance in the region, serving more
than 95,000 male and female clients from the north of the Kingdom to its south.

Careem launched in Jordan in 2015, commencing
operations in Amman before expanding to Irbid and Zarqa. Careem Jordan offers a
wide range of services to cater to the diverse needs of its customers including
ride-hailing, food delivery, shop delivery, and customer and corporate
on-demand delivery service (BOX). Careem Plus is a monthly subscription service
that offers exclusive discounts and benefits on select Careem services.
