AMMAN — The
Central Bank of Jordan
(CBJ) has warned of an online scam in which scammers are using the bank’s name
on social media platforms to send message and deceive the public to get ahold
of personal information, Addustour daily reported on Tuesday.

In a statement, the bank drew the public’s
attention to the “large-scale and constant” scams targeting citizens using the
name of the
Central Bank of Jordan in messages circulating on social media, promising
that the bank will provide aid or grants and requesting personal information or
documents.
The
CBJ called on the public not to respond
to or circulate such messages, stressing that it does not publish
advertisements about grants are aid. For verification, the bank the public to
refer to its official website,
www.cbj.gov.jo.
