AMMAN —
Mohammad Al-Bustanji, president of the
Jordanian Free Zones Investors Association, said on Saturday that of the total clearance of all types of
vehicles during the first eight months of this year at the Zarqa Free Zone,
electric vehicles accounted for 30 percent, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.
In a press
statement, Bustanji said that 10,089 electric vehicles were cleared during the
first eight months of 2022, while during the same period in 2021, a total of
34,834 vehicles were cleared from Zarqa Free Zone.
He said that 7,642
hybrid engine vehicles, 6,467 diesel engine vehicles, and 10,636 gasoline
engine vehicles have been cleared.
Bustanji pointed out that
the percentages of clearance of gasoline and electric vehicles were relatively
close at the
Zarqa Free Zone during the first eight months of this year, but
gasoline vehicles topped the total.
