AMMAN — The
Department of Statistics issued its monthly report on trade in Jordan,
with figures showing that exports during the first eight months of 2022
amounted to JD5,926.8 million, a 43.6 percent increase over the same period of
2021, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.

According to the department’s figures, the value of re-exports amounted to
JD472.3 million during the first eight months of 2022, an increase of 23.6
percent compared to the same period of 2021.
Imports during the first eight months of 2022
amounted to JD13,014.3 million, an increase of 37.8 percent over the same
period of 2021.
Jordan’s trade deficit during the same period
amounted to JD7,087.5 million, an increase of 33.2 percent over the same period
of 2021.
The total value of exports during August 2022
amounted to JD816.8 million, an increase of 36.4 percent compared to the same
month of 2021.
The value of exports during August, 2022 amounted to
JD762.8 million, an increase of 39.0 percent compared to the same month of
2021, and the value of re-exports amounted to JD54.0 million during August
2022, an increase of 8 percent compared to the same month of 2021. Imports
amounted to JD1957.3 million during August 2022, an increase of 31.5 percent
over the same month of 2021.
Trade deficit in August this year amounted to JD1,140.5
million, 28.2 percent more than in the same month of 2021.
