AMMAN — FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. and the world’s largest express transportation company, has announced its transition to a direct-serve presence in Jordan, to support the country’s growing export and import demands and post COVID-19 economic recovery.

FedEx Express has been facilitating trade in Jordan since 1994, offering international solutions and connectivity through local service providers. This strategic expansion will provide customers and businesses in Jordan with direct access to a wider portfolio of export and import shipping solutions.
Jack Muhs, regional president of FedEx Express Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa said: “Micro, small, and medium businesses make up approximately 99 percent of Jordan’s economy, and FedEx will play an important role in helping to enable these businesses to trade with ease, explore new markets, and expand their reach.
“Direct access to our comprehensive solutions, digital tools, well-established air network, and an extensive Middle East Road Network that connects Jordan directly to the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and Saudi Arabia, connects businesses to more than 220 countries and territories, and achieves their global ambitions.”
The announcement by FedEx Express supports Jordan’s coordinated efforts under Vision 2025 to strengthen the country’s economic position and improve its transport and logistics infrastructure. Under Jordan’s Vision 2025, the transport and logistics sector is essential to support trade connectivity locally, regionally, and globally, in addition to generating employment. The transport and logistics sector contributes more than 8 percent towards Jordan’s GDP.
With nearly 50 years’ experience, specialized services, and advanced technology solutions, FedEx will support the trade requirements of the healthcare, e-commerce, technology, energy, aerospace, and petrochemical industries.
