AMMAN — Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Banks (UAB) Wissam Fattouh announced that four Jordanian banks have made
it on the list of Top 1,000 World Banks, which are, in alphabetical order, Arab
Bank, Housing Bank for Trade and Finance, Union Bank, and Bank of Jordan, the
Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Jordan ranks 6th among Arab countries in terms of
the number of banks that made it on the list, Fattouh said in a statement.
The total basic capital of these four Jordanian
banks, with total assets valued at some $88.1 billion, is around $9.2 billion,
according to an analytical study issued by the UAB General Secretariat, based
on data issued by The Banker, a UK-based magazine, during July 2022.
