AMMAN — Jordan’s Gross Domestic Product
(GDP) at constant market prices grew by 2.2 percent in 2021, compared to the
figure reported in 2020, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

In a quarterly statistical report released Sunday, the
Department of Statistics said that the GDP increased by 2.6 percent in the
fourth quarter of last year compared to the same period in 2020.
It indicated that the construction sector expanded by 6.1
percent in the reporting period, followed by the extractive industries 5.6
percent, the transportation, storage, and communications sector 3.9 percent,
and the wholesale and retail trade and hospitality sectors 3.5 percent.
