AMMAN —
The German government has pledged 195 million euros to the Jordan Response Plan
for the
Syria Crisis 2022–2023, according to a statement by the Ministry of Planning
and International Cooperation carried by Al-Mamlaka TV.

During the annual
Jordanian-German negotiations for development cooperation, held in Amman,
Jordan’s Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Nasser Al-Shraideh
announced Germany’s allocation of 95.5 million euros in 2022 to support Jordan
in hosting Syrian refugees.
The German side
informed Jordan that the German government intends to provide around 100
million euros in humanitarian assistance for 2023 to support Jordan in its
response to the Syrian refugee crisis, with the amount currently pending
approval from the relevant German authorities, Shraideh said.
The ministry
extended Jordan’s gratitude to Germany for its assistance, which has
contributed to the implementation of a range of priority projects and allowed
the Kingdom to meet the needs of
Syrian refugee host communities.
Germany is Jordan’s
second-largest donor after the US, providing over 2.7 billion euros since 1960,
and carrying out projects in the Kingdom valued at more than 1 billion euros,
according to a previous statement by the German Bank for Development.
